At Domaine Sesquier, you park the car when you arrive and lace up your trainers. Around the estate: a lake just steps away, garrigue as far as the eye can see and the Étang de Thau at the end of the path. Whether you are a Sunday walker, an early-morning runner or on a corporate retreat and keen to stretch your legs between two meetings, here are our favourite routes.

1. The Lac du Sesquier loop: an easy walk just 500 m away

Distance: 1 km loop · Level: very easy · For: everyone
Just 500 metres from the estate, the Lac du Sesquier is the ideal walk to start or end the day gently. A flat, accessible one-kilometre loop, perfect with the family, with children, or in a small group after dinner.
At sunrise, the water is still and the birds are in full song. In the evening, the golden light on the lake makes this loop a real moment of calm. Runners can string several laps together for an easy jog, without ever straying far from the estate.

Our tip: go at sunset with a drink... and a camera.
Want to make more of your outing? The Parc du Sesquier, around the lake, also has a street workout area, a multi-sport pitch for football and a skate park, all free to use. Perfect for finishing your run with a few pull-ups or a friendly kickabout.
2. Running through the garrigue towards Bessilles

Starts at the estate · Intermediate · Runners and keen walkers
For those who love dirt tracks, stones and the scent of thyme, head into the garrigue towards Bessilles. From the estate, the trails wind between holm oaks, pines and rosemary bushes, with short climbs that work the legs without wearing you out.
It is the perfect terrain for a short trail run: peaceful running away from the roads, with only the cicadas for company in summer. Adjust the distance to suit you and turn back whenever you like.
Our tip: in summer, set off early in the morning. The garrigue heats up fast and shade is scarce. Take water with you.
3. From the estate to the Étang de Thau: a run to Le Taurus beach
Distance: 3.5 km one way · 7 km round trip · Level: intermediate · For: runners
This is our signature route: set off running from the estate and arrive on the shores of the Étang de Thau. Le Taurus beach is 3.5 km away. Allow 7 km there and back, a perfect distance for a 40-minute to one-hour run depending on your pace.
And the reward awaits at the finish: a swim in the calm waters of the lagoon, with a view of Mont Saint-Clair in Sète. Hard to find a better motivation to finish your run.
Our tip: in summer, wear your swimsuit under your shorts. The way back feels much lighter after a dip.
4. A walk from Le Taurus to La Conque, in Mèze

Access: by car from the estate · Level: easy · For: everyone
For this last walk, drive to the starting point, then stroll along the Étang de Thau from Le Taurus to La Conque, in Mèze. The path follows the shoreline with, in the distance, the shellfish farms where the lagoon's oysters and mussels are raised.
It is a peaceful walk, ideal in the late afternoon, and perfect for a tasty stop: a shellfish tasting at a local producer or a drink on a terrace near the port of Mèze.
Our tip: go at the end of the day, when the light on the lagoon is at its most beautiful.
